Life After Loss

Finding balance between this reality and home is quite the experience juggling the day to day routines, spending time with loved ones, exploring and facing adversity even in life after loss. Change doesn’t stop where life ends. Just because one branch falls doesn’t mean the entire tree dies. “The only constant is change”.

“When they go low, we go high” – Michelle Obama

In the face of adversity my husband’s character always reminds me one of several values, “Integrity”. Like Marcus Aruelius would say, If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it. But what is right or wrong and by what rubric? Understanding perceives me.

“Three things cannot be long hidden, the sun, the moon, and the truth.” – Buddha

Faith fuels me regardless of circumstances as my husband’s character reminds me, do not judge as it is not my place to do so, but to feel my way through every blessings (favorable or un-favorable) that are meant for me. I choose courage over fear and light over darkness forever my existence.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only Love can do that.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

I seek not conviction, but to witness truth. To that I am humbly at peace.

“An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” -Mahatma Gandhi

Karma is given a negative connotation when it really is synchrony in a viscous cycle. In other words, input equals output. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto to you.” – Matthews 7:12

“Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” – Mark Twain

So many humans in the community attended my husbands funeral, even some I’ve never met before that day. I was and still am in awe by the number of lives my husband touched because his love for humanity drove and continues to drive kindness; I continue his legacy by spreading it in all the places I can.

“Courage is grace under pressure.” Ernest Hemmingway

Rock bottom is where we rise like the Phoenix! “A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure.” – Henry Kissinger

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – President Obama

We are the Hope and Faith we seek. We are the Courage we seek. We are the Love we seek. We are Infinite.

“Love is passion free from reason”.

So love and forgive always, even the unlovable for Compassion has no rhyme or reason; it only ebbs and flows through our universe.
